About

Steve is an engineer, designer, and maker driven by curiosity and a desire to create.

A Portsmouth, NH native, Steve has spent his educational and professional careers learning and producing in local studios, institutions, and workshops:

During his education in the Portsmouth public school system, Steve gained an early exposure to the arts and technical education, creating a foundation for his lifelong interest in the arts and sciences.

He later studied Physics at the University of New Hampshire, transitioning to achieve a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; a more well-rounded field of study that “put science to use”, and appealed to his mechanical sensibilities.

Post-college, he maintained his independent spirit by working as a self-employed engineering consultant with individual, small business, and corporate clients.  He has provided his expertise and has continued to learn on a breadth of projects across many industries: medical, maritime, industrial, defense, automotive, research, architectural, and artistic.

Steve enjoys working on a variety of projects, to keep a honed range of technical acuities.  He believes that constantly learning and experimenting with new techniques and crafts is important to maintaining a creative mindset.  He stays active in the community as a motorcycle enthusiast, organizing the Welcome East Motorcycle Show on a yearly basis.  He is involved as a member and volunteer at the Port City Makerspace, teaching classes on welding and motorcycle restoration.
